Sales support manager

At this moment Komatsu is looking for a Sales Support Manager. As Sales Support Manager, you coordinate, support and stimulate the activities with the distributors and the regional sales offices with the target to develop and increase the sales of mining, quarry and large construction machines (incl. articulated & rigid dump trucks, >70t excavators, >50t wheel loaders, >40t bulldozers.) in Europe.

You will not be managing a team, but a client portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, support and follow up the sales in Europe, to make sure the offers are made at the correct pricing to ensure winning ratio and profitability. Optimize the offers evaluating best mix of the different factors impacting on TCO (financial solutions, equipment price, residual value, maintenance and repair).
  • Keep track of the offers made and the win/lost sales in order to follow up the evolution of the market coverage and winning ratio and makes sure the data are correctly reported in the company CRM.
  • Stimulate and support the distributors with the utilization of the online TCO tool
  • Visit key customers to support distributors in securing deals and/or collect customer feedback.
  • Support the Major Accounts team with offers and TCO optimizations
  • Support product managers in collecting/interpreting data to propose new products/improvements towards Komatsu development division.
  • Responsible for administering the sales incentive budget and ensure achievement of volume and sales margin targets
  • Support the organization in correct machine ordering and sales forecasting operations.

Profile

  • Master degree (preferrable Economy/ Engineering) or equal by experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in or related with Komatsu’s business
  • Technical knowledge of large earth moving equipment and related applications
  • Understanding of market trends and medium - long term impact on the earth moving equipment business
  • In depth understanding of distribution selling channel and mechanism
  • Good knowledge of all office related IT programs

Interpersonal Skills & Competences

  • Ability and pro-activeness to steer and support activities of different Komatsu Europe departments to improve the sales performance of mining, quarry and large construction machines
  • Ability to deal with a multinational/multicultural team both toward distributors and Komatsu colleagues
  • Proactive to understand the market, analytical & logical thinking with very strong communication and reporting skills
  • Collaborative mindset, able to build and maintain long-term working relationships with distributors and customers and rapidly grasp their requirements to provide them with solutions and able to negotiate.
  • Ability to deal with complicated negotiations and different (internal/external) stakeholders
  • Is an excellent team player with a positive attitude and open-minded personality
  • Independent worker, stimulated by new challenges, with a passion for learning
  • Takes the initiative to perform, showing pro-active behavior and a reliable attitude
  • Frequent (30%) travelling in Europe as and when required.
  • Driving license B
  • Excellent English language skills. Other EU languages is a plus
